Curtis Malone is Co Founder and President of DC Assault, Incorporated, a Select Basketball program that plays in elite AAU Tournaments across the United States. DC Assault was Co- Founded in 1993 with Troy Weaver. The organization’s mission then and still remains the same, to choose top basketball talent, boys 10-17 years of age in the D C Metropolitan area. While basketball is an intricate part, DC Assault, Inc prides itself of standing by these young men year round, providing academic assistance to enhance their growth in the classroom as well as on the court. We provide tutoring, by local college students that volunteer their services, and SAT and ACT preparation.

Curtis Malone has built a class organization, surrounding himself with an excellent staff that consist of men that work in the education field as teachers, counselors, and vice principals in the Washington, DC area. He has seen over 60 of the players receive division 1 scholarships, and four active NBA players, and numerous oversees professional basketball players. A few of his former coaches have elevated their careers from their association with DC Assault, Inc, and are now coaching division 1 basketball.  Troy Weaver, co-founder works for the Utah Jazz as a scout. Since its beginning, DC Assault has won numerous championships each year, and he along with his staff has coached five McDonald’s All-American’s.

Curtis Malone was a 1986 graduate of Parkdale High School where he was a three year starting varsity point guard; he received many county honors during his senior year. Curtis received a full scholarship to PSC in Keyser, West Virginia and accomplished all region honors as a freshman. His aspirations for coaching came when he began coaching a team at the Columbia Park Maryland Recreation Center. Curtis took the coaching serious at the urging of a pioneer basketball coach at the center named Lee Matkins. Following that stint with coaching, Curtis, Troy Weaver, and Mike Sumner co founded the elite basketball team of DC Assault.  He has been heralded as one of the top coaches in the AAU ranks, and each year brings the best team to the national tournaments, against exceptional competition. Curtis serves on the Adidas Board of Directors for the grassroots program. He has also been acknowledged among the local high school coaches in the area for his support of their teams, and programs.

Curtis Malone resides in Maryland with his wife Monica, and is the father of two daughters, Alexus Malone, Tanay Gross; and two step children Sydney & Nolan Smith.. His hobbies include; watching basketball, football, and boxing.
